********************************

Happy New Year! Here is your first issue of INTENTIONS, an inspirational newsletter for LEADER, PEOPLE, FREE SPIRIT and TASK type personalities, basefd on the PeoplemapTM System, by E. Michael Lillibridge.

Each month, INTENTIONS Newsletter will send a possible new intention for each type of personality. If the intention fits your needs, answer the questions at the end and then focus on developing the change you desire. Focus on this change goal for the entire month. At the end of the month, you should have the beginnings of a positive habit (true habits take 90 days of practice).

The following month, INTENTIONS Newsletter will bring you another new intention. Feel free to work on intentions for both your core personality as well as your back-up personality. Use any that fit.

For a refresher on personality type, please go to www.peoplemap.org and read the personality type descriptions.

If you wish to purchase the entire INTENTIONS book, with more than a year's worth of intentions, including colorful pictures and workbook section, you may purchase it as PDF download, or hard copy. To Order, Click Here

LEADER INTENTION

  • I am results-oriented and this strength has helped me to reach many goals. I am willing to work long hours to accomplish what I want.

  • Sometimes though, this trait interferes with enjoyment of life's beauty and pleasures. I push for completion. I want to see results. I miss the beauty along the way.

  • Today I intend to focus on the now and enjoy the journey. I am glad to be alive. I intend to value and to appreciate family, friends and coworkers. I will appreciate every moment. I will take a moment to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

PEOPLE INTENTION

  • People are important to me and I really care for other people. I value that quality in myself.

  • Sometimes, I focus so much on other people's needs that I do not take care of my own needs. I feel "selfish" when I focus on myself.

  • Now I realize that I must take care of my own health and well being or I will be no help to others. I deserve to be put on my own calendar. I have a responsibility to take care of myself. Self-care is not selfish.

  • Today I intend to be self-caring. I will identify situations where I must say "no". I intend to put time on my calendar for personal care, fun and relaxation. I will give myself permission to be self-caring.

FREE SPIRIT INTENTION

  • I want freedom. I don't want anyone telling me what to do.

  • Sometimes this gets in my way and causes conflict in my personal life. At times, my partner or a family member requests that I do something, and my immediate reaction is to resist. I feel controlled.

  • Now I know that when a family member requests something of me, he or she is not necessarily trying to control me. I have a choice whether to resist or not. Resistance and rebellion may not be in my best interest, or in the best interest of the relationship. Why should I not help them with what they need?

  • Today I intend to be more aware of my immediate reactions. When I am asked to do something, I will resist my initial impulse and take a moment to consider my choices.

TASK INTENTION

  • I value punctuality and am always on time. I think timeliness is important. I show up for events and dates on time, I finish projects on time, I plan how much time I need.

  • Sometimes, I become irritated by people who are late - even by just a few minutes. I think it is disrespectful to everyone who got there on time. I judge them as irresponsible. Then I feel kind of angry and resentful for a while.

  • Now I realize that not every one is as time conscious and punctual as I am. We put importance on different things. They may have trouble being on time, but they are not necessarily irresponsible.

  • Today I will let go of my expectations and negative feelings for others. I will focus on myself, and being the best I can be.
